    be a dog
so nothing has been written here in 6 months.

surely there were many post worthy items along the way, peh..

PEI was visited for a fantastic 3 week vacation, it is an island sorely missed. prior to vacaion departure, resignation was offered pending acceptance of terms.

upon return to the western coast, resignation terms are accepted. a job interview is preceded by a chance encounter at a local barber... interview results fruitless, but chance encounter results in full time employment, working from home for a rammed earth building company based on salt spring island. travelling every monday to ssi for company meetings, design department based in victoria. longterm carreer potential. indeed.

    dear self of the future.
self of the present is currently quite content with life.
major subject areas are all in the B to A- range.
new abode is cold but really good anyway.
large room with uninsulated hardwood floors, drafty fireplace.
    cats included.
    cook street village, ocean proximal.
    who could ask for more.
    ok i could.
went on field trip at work today, permission slips were not required.
resolved to apply to dalhousie for architecture despite being very uncertain if that is the correct path towards becoming canada's leading designer/architect of the 10's and 20's.
resolution to attend dalhousie will remain pending.
    what letters are more impressive;
    BEDS and MArch or Dipl.Arch
tho it is what future self does with the letters that is important. and who knows what that may be.

    modus operandi
on friday i learned of a potential new housing situation.
on saturday i looked at the place and i'd give it an 8.5
on monday i confirmed that i will move into that place.

if anyone needs or knows of someone who needs a place to live, my room in the fernwood place will be available. it is a pretty good deal, 350 includes everything. literally everything, phone, electricty, internet, heat. i haven't paid a single bill while living there. the 2 guys are decent enough, almost never there. it is the main level of a house. let me know if you got any leads....

if anyone could give me a hand moving a few large things, very few in fact. double bed, dresser, table. you would be my saviour, and i'd give you booze.

new place is 3 blocks from dallas road, and 3 houses from cook street.

-ghost house is playing at logan's tonight. jesse gander's new band. they are very good. i haven't been to a show in quite some time, think i'll go. anyone down?

-getting my act together in 2007.
-i'm about 75% sure that i will be moving to halifax to go to school next fall.
-hopefully i won't have to redo things i've already done and spend alot of time and money being redundant, although being the smart kid with industry experience could be helpful, and i could say things like, well that's not how they do it in bc.

    Design Consultancy
    Dear Internet;

    If you or someone you know, or someone someone you know knows are requiring the services of a desinger to design a;

    -house
    -barn
    -renovation
    -out house
    -furniture
    -water bottle
    -etc etc

Then drop me a line, I will gladly consult and produce working drawings for considerably less than market price. I want to branch out and do some independant work, expand my portfolio and whatnot. I will work with clients to determine the requirements of the program, with a predispostion to sustainable economic modern contemporary design.

    think about life
i'm the only one in the office at the moment. kinda weird. we were given the choice of taking friday or monday off since we do not get stat holidays as contract workers (will soon be switching to 'employee' status).

reading about concrete that absorbs air pollution, and steel as a sustainable building material, listening to my music loudly. slacking off, getting excited for weekend.

going to vancouver tomorrow with B to see bodyworlds 3, maybe a music show too. haven't been to van (except in transit) in ages, like years.

getting itchy to go places and make plans. big places. big plans.

Dinosaurs return. Want their oil back. - David Brin
... from a series of 6 word stories on wired.com

i had a similar thought earlier today; oil is ancient life, maybe we are being cosmically sacreligious by thoughtlessly combusting the black gold of our evolutionary forebearers.

i may soon have secured a waterfront home in vic west. it is unbelievably nice, wood floors, fire place, nice yard, incredible view, dining room, spacious, 2 rooms up, 2 down(lower floor is mostly unfinished, room for jam space.)

it seems almost too good to be true, and something tipped me off that it might be... it is a rather bizzare subletting situation. this lady in california wants me to put money into her account, acting as proxy to the actual landlords. the reason she wants to sublet as opposed to just giving up the place is that there is a toothless-stray cat who has become accustom to receiving wet food served daily on the premises, she wants to ensure someone will continue this. i don't have much problem with that, however i think it would be prudent to confirm with the owners that my rent money is actually getting to them and this is not some sort of a scam..

    any thoughts?

anyone want a room in the nicest place you'll ever live?.. rent will be 300-350, i'm thinking the basement rooms should be cheaper.. the house is 1350. put the word out, i should know forsure this weekend.

VIC WEST 5Br+440sf Shop, 2Ba, familyrm, 4-appl, small pet ok. $1,495+util

so vic west isn't the most ideal neighbohood, but its also not bad. and a 440sf shop... that sounds like a jam room to me. if anyone is interested or knows anyone let me know ASAP. i'll probly call this a little later today to get more details.

5 years ago i was sleeping on a friend's couch in halifax and was awoken at about 830 to him coming out into the living room.

"hey man, you mind if i turn on the news".
    "no, sure go ahead"
    turns on cnn.

not 5 minutes pass and as we're lighting up a doob, our regularly scheduled broadcast is interupted by unconfirmed reports that a plane has crashed into the wtc. it is thought at that point to be a cesna or something small, then the 2nd plane hits, live on every channel.

wtf'n wtc. "it looks like a movie" etcetc

we wake up the rest of the house.

the T word is not mentioned until long after both towers are down. doobies #2, 3 and 4 are also burned down by this point.

    shock and awe.

we woke up to a different world that day, all of us knew it and there was nothing that anyone could do about it.
we are still in the dark as to what really happened that day.

as much as i try to live without fear, i can't help but be worried and angry by the way this fear of random and unlikely events is dominating, and dumped onto the publicshpere. and "security" which is not making anyone any safer, goodbye personal freedom. while "those who would do us harm" will naturally come up with alternative scenarios to bypass existing security measures if they are so inclined.

lock the door, go in the window.

what better way to spend a saturday night...
..than to pick me up at the ferry or aiport, at like midnight. busses stop at 11, which is lame cuz the last ferry gets in at 1130. and if i fly from Van instead, i won't get there till 12. ah! the airporter, i just remembered. i'll figure shit out.

last night in charlottetown: windom earl crunkin' da shit outta baba's. one night in halifax. fly across country. recover from 2wks binge drinking sunday. back to work monday.

    to do:

    -run before work (daily)
-start capoeira (requires white clothes - buy)
    -be in a band
    -be less lame
-get ideas, design ideas, build designs
-make more to do lists. (post online ala harri)

a couple days ago, i went to buy a lighter. they didn't have any, so i was offered matches. ok sure. i'm handed two packs of matches each bearing a provincial flag. as fate would have it, one is BC the other is PEI - the extents of my bi-coastal habitations. i don't know what it means yet, but if past experiences are any indication, there is something big on the horizon. eyes open.

    I AGREE...... NO! I DISAGREE
damn friggin wow. the past 3 days feel more like 7.
outdoor festival + hurricane = disasterously good times.
my brother and sisters are so cool, it was great to be there with them. tho, it was too bad our other sister couldn't be there to complete our quadrant. then our cousins randomly showed up and pitched their tent next to ours.
dela soul were un-be-fucking-lievable. for real, those guys are mad magicians. the rain started as they took the stage, they had complete control over the crowd. followed by scratch bastid- who's got to be one of the best party dj's in canada.
slept well in vehicle both nights, was awoken by some random chick opening the door that my naked ass was pressed against, scared the shit out of me, nearly fell out.
next morning i was awoken to the news that the events for sunday were canceled. meh, oh well no big thing. would have been nice to see 'holy fuck' . still glad to go.

red and black and red and black and red and black and red and black and red and black and red and black.

walked on beach alone, serious thinking - big plans.

my brother leaves for switzerland in a week for one year on a rotary exchange. i'm really excited for him, i may try to visit him in the winter.. europe anyone?

i may do some mind/body/chemical experimenting tonight or tomorrow. gotta take a brain shit, if you know what i mean. tho probly not.
